Bus Lines
The #6 bus line will take you from Market Street (downtown area) up to Masonic and Haight, at which point it heads south-- here's where you jump out and continue up Haight two blocks to Hobson's Choice.
The #7 bus line is also accessible from Market Street (downtown area), and runs
all the way up Haight; this is the best bet for a direct ride to your favorite
rum punch!
The #71 bus line, while it runs less frequently than the previous two,
also runs all the way up Haight. More information on these lines and any other
San Francisco Muni lines can be found online at the Muni website.
From BART
Any of the downtown BART stops are within a block of a bus stop where one of the above lines stops, or from the 16th Street/Mission stop, the #22 bus will take you up to Fillmore and Haight, where you can catch another line to the Upper Haight. Check the BART website for more information.
From Marin County (north)
After crossing the Golden Gate Bridge, follow the signs to Lombard Street. From Lombard, take a right on Divisadero Street, and head south on Divisadero until you reach Haight, at which point go right and travel west on Haight about 1/4 mile to Clayton; there we are on the southwestern corner.
From the East Bay
After crossing the Bay Bridge, follow the first sign towards the Civic Center (as opposed to San Jose), then get in the leftmost lane and follow the next set of signs west towards Mission Street. Follow the signs to the Fell Street exit, and head west on Fell Street until reaching Masonic. Go left on Masonic, and make a right on Haight Street; from this turn it is a short two-block stretch to the corner of Clayton and Haight.
From the South Bay
Take 280-North and follow the signs to 19th Avenue. Take 19th north to Lincoln and turn right. Stay in the right lane as you are routed onto Frederick Street. From here it is four blocks until Clayton Street; take a left on Clayton and go to blocks to Haight; Hobson's is on the corner!
Parking?
Parking your vehicle in the Haight-Ashbury district is often a bit challenging, even for the most intrepid. There is a pay lot with reasonable rates 5 blocks from the bar towards Golden Gate Park. The lot entrance is located on Stanyon across from Waller Street. It is open 24 hours. Public parking is available on the street; we suggest you allow at least 15 extra minutes to find that perfect spot.
We look forward to seeing you here...in the meantime, check out our drink list and get some ideas
